High-Pressure Experimental studies at Tohoku University
to investigate phases in the lower mantle and core that
can fractionate parent/daughter isotope ratios. This
is one of the first examples of the application high-pressure
multi-anvil and diamond anvil experimentation to understand
isotope heterogeneity in the mantle. (with Prof Eiji
Ohtani, Tohoku University)

Characterization of Ti-rich silicate perovskite, a new
phase in the lower mantle (>660 km). This is the homogeneous
phase that exsolves to form pyroxene-ilmenite xenoliths
in kimberlite. This research has important implications
for kimberlite petrogenesis (with Prof Eiji Ohtani and
Dr Tohoku University)
